Our buffer tape 3Mtm 2552 is manufactured with a soft aluminium foil containment layer and coated with a pressure sensitive viscoelastic acrylic polymer adhesive. This unique construction provides the ability to control resonant vibrations in a variety of applications and over a wide temperature range.

3MTM Tape Damping 2552 ((PDF, 112 Kb) is an anti-vibration tape with reverse aluminum foil. It is designed to reduce structure-borne noise and fatigue on metal and composite panels and support structures. With a viscoelastic acrylic polymer adhesive, this tape is easy to apply and adheres well to the metal. It can achieve effective cushioning with only 20% surface coverage.

This durable tape will withstand moisture, weather, UV degradation and flames. It is a long-lasting tape specifically designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures (-25 °F/32 °C to 175 °F/180 °C) with maximum damping from 32 °F/0 °C to 140 °F/60 °C. The coated construction provides the ability to stamp this product. The buffer tape 3MTM 2552 meets the requirements of FAR 25.853 (a) and can pass ASTM E-162 and ASTM-E 662 as regards flammability and smoke generation.
