SKYLOTEC AND CLIMBING TECHNOLOGY TOGETHER IN VERTICAL PRO
As one of the leading brands in personal protective equipment, SKYLOTEC has continued its growth strategy with the acquisition of Climbing Technology from Italy, a world-renowned brand in mountaineering and sport climbing. In Vertical Pro, the innovations and developments in the areas of high rope courses, climbing rooms and rope access will be presented in a joint brand presentation.
SKYLOTEC has been developing and producing safety equipment in Germany for over 70 years. The family-owned company has been active in mountaineering since 2008 and in roping for several years.
The acquisition of Climbing Technology further extends its expertise in these areas. With the integration of the two associated production companies, Aludesign and Securit, SKYLOTEC further extends its technical knowledge and manufacturing capabilities. SKYLOTEC and Climbing Technology have a long history in common. Over 25 years ago, Wolfgang Rinklake, who handed over the management of SKYLOTEC to his son Dr. Kai Rinklake in 2000, established a partnership and was the first customer of Aludesign founder Carlo Paglioli at its inception. 'With the acquisition, what was co-created now comes together and has more potential together than separately. SKYLOTEC is growing, and so are Aludesign and Securit. So now is the optimal time to join forces. We are pleased to be able to use the 'Climbing Technology' brand to expand our range of products in the field of sport and rope access as well as our technical know-how in musket manufacturing,' says Dr Kai Rinklake. In addition, both companies share a philosophy of quality. 'Every day we work on solutions that lead to greater safety for people.. This is why we have high quality standards, not only in terms of safety but also in terms of ergonomics and comfort of use', says Rinklake |
Equipment for each application
At Vertical Pro, Climbing Technology is already part of the SKYLOTEC presence. At the common stand, visitors to the fair will be able to discover a wide portfolio for all the 'vertical professionals' of both brands. This includes cableway sets for hiking enthusiasts, rope harnesses, rope and hand lifts, as well as rope and rescue equipment for industrial rope access technicians and rescue equipment. Finally, the presentation of Vertical Pro is completed with solutions for motorized vertical work, which allow the transport of people and materials in a simple and efficient way. In this area, the family business has become market leader in 2019 thanks to the acquisition of the manufacturer ActSafe. |
A clear commitment to Europe as a location
The strategic acquisition of Climbing Technology is also a clear commitment to Europe as a location, creating its own production capacities and ensuring long-term supply stability for customers. After all, the Corona pandemic has recently shown that long supply chains are vulnerable. In addition, the costs of materials and logistics, as well as delivery times, have increased. SKYLOTEC has counteracted this by investing in the European location and at the same time becoming more independent of the Far Eastern supply chains.
