HOSE distress signalpictogram alluding to fire extinguishing hoseAvailable in different sizes to adapt to the needs of the industry. This sign is used to indicate the existence of a compressor hose to be used in case of fire.
Thedistress posterIt is made on a luminescent plate (after absorbing light, the product emits it in the dark, so it does not need any electrical source and the product can be charged an indefinite number of times).
These types of signs are installed in different types of industries as a warning and security measure, while they fulfill the function of keeping users and workers informed of relief actions in case of emergency
Fire safety hose signaling is usually found in industries that handle flammable or hazardous materials, such as the chemical, oil, mining, transportation industries, among others. They are also common in public buildings such as hospitals, schools, airports and shopping malls.
A fire hose sign serves to indicate the location of a fire hose or fire suppression system in a building. These signs are important to guide people to the location of the hoses in an emergency and facilitate quick access to them.
Fire hose signs are usually of a specific design and are marked with internationally recognizable symbols, such as a stylized hose or a drawing of a fire extinguisher. This allows people to easily identify the location of hoses and know how to use them in the event of a fire.
Additionally, fire hose signs may also include additional information, such as instructions for use or information about the type of fire for which the hose is suitable. This helps people make quick and safe decisions in emergency situations.
In summary, fire hose signs are an important part of a fire safety system, providing clear, visible information about the location of fire hoses and how to use them in the event of a fire.

NORMATIVE
The UNE 23035-4 regulation of December 2003 requires signs to have certain qualities of light intensity and resistance to pigment attenuation. Both the inks and the Photoluminescent PVC used in the creation of our signs largely comply with these regulations. Because safety signage can help save lives, and is mandatory, use the best signage possible. Recommendations for Use: Minimum sizes to use depending on the meters.
STORAGE, CLEANING AND PRESERVATION
The working temperature should not be higher than 45º C. Higher temperatures can deform the support material.
The optimal storage temperature will be between 15º C and 25º C; and with a humidity of 10/50%.
Cleaning methods; avoid applying abrasive products. It is recommended to clean them with water and neutral detergents.
The technical building code – Basic fire safety document requires that photoluminescent signage must comply with the UNE 23035 standard.
In order to preserve the functionality for which the signage systems have been designed, SEKURECO recommends keeping the signs free of dust, dirt or any debris or object that prevents their visibility and identification.
For cleaning, it is advisable to preferably use soapy solutions, avoiding the use of solvents or abrasive products that could damage the surface of the sign
Photoluminescent signals shall be so placed that they receive energy from a natural or artificial light source to ensure their correct operation.
In accordance with RD 513/2017 (TABLA III), luminous signalling systems shall be subject to an annual inspection/revision to be carried out by specialised personnel of the manufacturer, a maintenance company or the user or owner of the installation.
Once the useful life of the signals that make up the signaling system has expired, the inspection of said elements will be carried out following the instructions contained in RD 513/2017 and UNE 23035-2
SIGNAL INSTALLATION
Check out our blog to learn how to install a sign or poster:https://www.sekureco.eu/blog/76_consejos-de-instalacion-de-senales-de-seguridad.html
The recommended INSTALLATION HEIGHT ranges between 2 and 2.50 meters, always maintaining a separation distance of 0.30 meters from the ceiling.
Photoluminescent signs must be located so that they receive energy from a natural or artificial light source to ensure their correct operation.
The FIXING of the signaling element must be carried out on a firm surface free of dirt.
The sign may be secured using MECHANICAL ELEMENTS (screws, rivets, etc...) or ADHESIVES (assembly adhesive, glues, silicones...) carefully, avoiding soiling the visible surface or deforming it.
EVACUATION signage must be installed in such a way that an evacuation can be initiated from any point susceptible to occupation of the premises, so it is recommended to install directional signs on all routes, intersections, stairs, etc. that serve as a route.
The DOOR signage will be placed on the door lintel with the appropriate label (“EXIT”, “EMERGENCY EXIT”, NO EXIT”, …).
The signaling of MEANS OF PROTECTION against fire, rescue and/or aid will be carried out on the same elements to be signaled whenever possible.
To install a security sign, follow these steps:
- Determine the appropriate location to place the safety sign. It must be visible and be in a strategic place where it can be easily seen by people.
- Make sure you obtain the necessary permits to install the sign in the chosen location. Some locations may have restrictions or regulations on the installation of safety signs.
- Purchase a security sign suitable for your needs. You can find a variety of signs at specialty safety stores or online. Make sure the sign complies with safety regulations and standards.
- Prepare the area where the sign will be installed. Clean and make sure there are no obstructions that could hinder the visibility of the sign.
- Mark the location where the sign will be installed. Use a level to make sure the sign is straight and level.
- Drill the necessary holes for sign installation. Use a drill bit appropriate for the type of surface the sign will be installed on (wood, metal, concrete, etc.).
- Place the screws or anchors into the drilled holes and secure them properly.
- Place the sign on the screws or anchors and secure it firmly.
- Verify that the sign is installed correctly and is visible from different angles. Make sure there are no obstructions that could hinder your visibility.
- Regularly monitor the sign to ensure it is in good condition and remains visible. Replace the sign if it is damaged or its visibility is compromised.
Remember that it is important to follow local rules and regulations when installing a safety sign, as well as use the proper equipment and take the necessary precautions to ensure a safe installation.
