Emergency telephone with right arrow pictogram COFAN. The sign indicates the message that refers to a signage of the location of an emergency telephone in case you need help. The signal is on the left side of where the phone is.
The rescue sign is made on luminescent plate, (after absorbing light, the product emits it in the dark, so it does not need any electrical source and the product can be charged an indefinite number of times).
These types of signals are installed in different types of industries as a warning and safety measure, while they serve the function of keeping users and workers informed of rescue actions in case of emergency. The emergency telephone is a device that allows you to call emergency services, such as police, firefighters or ambulances, in case of a risk or emergency situation. We often find this sign in public places such as parking lots, buildings, airports, train stations, and so on.

To calculate the necessary dimensions of a signal up to a maximum distance of 50 m, the formula shall be applied:
S≥ L2 /2000
S” represents the surface of the signal in metres squared, and L” the distance in metres from which the signal can be perceived.
APPLICATIONS
Public buildings, Factories, fire stations and so on.
REGULATORY
UNE 23035-4 of December 2003 requires signals to have certain qualities of light intensity and resistance to pigment attenuation. Both the inks and the photoluminescent PVC used in our signage largely comply with these regulations. Since safety signage can help save lives, and is mandatory, use the best possible signage. Recommendations for use: Minimum sizes to be used based on meters.
STORAGE, CLEANING AND PRESERVATION
The working temperature shall not exceed 45 °C. Higher temperatures may deform the support material.
The optimum storage temperature shall be between 15oC and 25oC and a humidity of 10/50%.
Cleaning methods; avoid applying abrasive products. It is recommended to clean them with water and neutral detergents.
The technical building code – Basic fire safety document requires that photoluminescent signalling comply with UNE 23035.
In order to preserve the functionality for which the signalling systems have been designed, SEKURECO recommends that signals be kept free from dust, dirt or any residue or object that prevents their visibility and identification.
For cleaning it is advisable to use soapy solutions preferably, avoiding the use of solvents or abrasive products that may damage the surface of the signal.
Photoluminescent signals shall be so placed that they receive energy from a natural or artificial light source to ensure their correct operation.
In accordance with RD 513/2017 (TABLA III), luminous signalling systems shall be subject to an annual inspection/revision to be carried out by specialised personnel of the manufacturer, a maintenance company or the user or owner of the installation.
At the end of the service life of the signals comprising the signalling system, the inspection of these elements shall be carried out in accordance with the instructions set out in RD 513/2017 and UNE 23035-2
SIGNAL INSTALLATION
Check our blog to learn how to install a sign or sign: https://www.sekureco.eu/blog/76_consejos-de-instalacion-de-senales-de-seguridad.html
The recommended installation height is between 2 and 2.50 metres, always maintaining a separation distance of 0.30 metres from the ceiling.
Photoluminescent signals shall be so placed that they receive energy from a natural or artificial light source to ensure their correct operation.
FIXING of the signalling element shall be carried out on a firm surface free from dirt.
The signal may be secured by means of MECHANICAL ELEMENTS (screwdrivers, rivets, etc.) or ADHESIVES (mounting adhesive, tails, silicones, etc.) carefully, avoiding dirtying the visible surface or deforming it.
EVACUATION signalling must be installed in such a way that an evacuation can be initiated from any point likely to be occupied in the enclosure.
The signage in DOORS shall be placed on the lintel of the door with the appropriate label (“EXIT”, ).EMERGENCY EXIT”, SIN EXIT”, ...).
Means of protection against fire, rescue and/or salvage shall be marked on the same elements to be marked whenever possible.
