The adhesive provides an adequate initial adhesion and is secured correctly with a minimum of overlapping. The durable transparent back is moisture-resistant, withstands the passage of time well and protects the filaments and adhesive so that your boxes remain closed for a long time. The back, filaments and adhesive combine to offer great tensile and tear resistance, as well as an additional layer of security against improper handling and product theft. This tape offers you adequate fastening in a wide variety of situations with a minimal amount of adhesive tape, reducing the cost of applications where tensile strength is a fundamental requirement.

It is very easy to apply Scotch® 8981 filament tape at room temperature. At cold temperatures (around 0 oC), the adhesive of tape 8981 becomes firmer. Once tape 8981 has been applied, its performance is very suitable in the temperature range in which packaged products are normally found in storage and shipping environments. It complies with ASTM D5330 type II, which replaces PPP-T-97E and CID A-A-1686A.
