Our film discs are ideal for a wide range of applications primarily focused on material removal and are effective on a wide variety of substrates. Use Clean Sanding Film Discs 3M™ Cubitron™ II Hookit™ 775L for more wear resistance than paper discs. Our discs cut twice as fast and last up to six times longer than conventional abrasives. The multi-hole pattern of our Clean Sanding products allows dust to evacuate faster than 5 and 6 hole products. Sanding discs cut better and last longer when dust does not accumulate on the cutting surface of the abrasives. In this design it is not necessary to align the holes with those of the disc holder, so changing discs is quick and easy.

The open coating design means that the abrasive grains have enough space between them to evacuate dust and other sanding debris. This prevents material from accumulating on the cutting edge. The clog-resistant coating allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding soft wood, paint and other materials that would normally jam the disc and therefore reduce its sanding capacity. Our film discs contain PSG grain 3M which takes the shape of triangular tips that, unlike traditional abrasives, cut metal cleanly instead of biting or gouging it. These points continually self-sharpen as they fracture, providing extremely fast cutting.

3M offers a full range of Hookit discs for workspaces where adhesive backed discs can become contaminated with dust or dirt. The finishes obtained with Hookit discs are typically finer than those with adhesive backed discs, so they are often used in applications where a disc 3M™ Stikit™ would be too aggressive. Our discs are ideal for a large number of applications focused primarily on material removal and are effective on a wide variety of substrates, such as metals, composites, gel lacquers and white wood. Hookit sanding discs conveniently attach to a Hookit-type holder (sold separately). They can be easily removed and reused throughout the life of the abrasive. For maximum dust extraction, use with rotary sanders 3M Elite and with Hookit-type Clean Sanding supports 3M (both sold separately).
