An energy absorber is a component or element of an anti-fall system, designed to dissipate the kinetic energy developed during a fall from a given height.
Energy absorbers are used well integrated with a mooring element, anchorage line or slip harness or in combination with any of these.
The combination of an energy absorber and a mooring element is a subsystem which, when connected to a crash harness according to EN 361, constitutes one of the crash systems specified in EN 363.

STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS
The absorbers Irudek are classified as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), the absorber being Irudek 360 complying with regulations.- IN 355
RESTRICTIONS ON USE
- The equipment must be individually attributed to one person.
- It is recommended that the anchorage point where the anti-fall system will be fixed be above the user. The anchorage point shall have a minimum static resistance of 12 kN and shall comply with the requirements of EN 795.
- Personal protective equipment must not be worn by persons whose state of health may affect the safety of the wearer under normal conditions of use or in an emergency.
- Personal protective equipment should only be used by a person trained and competent in its safe use.
LIFETIME
The estimated service life of the equipment is 11 years from the date of manufacture (1 year of storage and 10 years of use). The following factors may reduce the shelf life of the product: heavy use, contact with chemicals, particularly harsh environments, exposure to extreme temperatures, exposure to ultraviolet rays, abrasion, cuts, heavy impacts, or poor use and maintenance.ABOUT IRUDEK
