For the purposes of this Regulation, the following definitions apply: 3M. What. The Surface Conditioning Scotch-Brite disc is a non-woven and durable disc for use as the first step in cleaning, homogenising, shaving and finishing. Our discs perform well on contoured or uneven surfaces without reducing or damaging the base material.
For demanding shaving, sanding, grinding and finishing work, use the Surface Conditioning SE disc 3MTM Scotch-BriteTM with aluminium oxide abrasive. Aluminium oxide is the preferred choice among industry professionals for its high cutting rate and long service life. It is a resistant and durable abrasive that fractures itself continuously during use to expose fresh cutting edges continuously: this differentiates it from traditional abrasives such as garnet, which wear quickly with use. It also has low heat retention and is ideal for roughing, sanding and finishing. Our aluminum oxide disc is suitable for use on a wide variety of substrates for both wood and metallurgical work, including iron alloys.
Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives are single-surface conditioning products on non-woven nylon or synthetic fibres. The combination of abrasives with fibres creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the life of the product. The open mesh material works without heating and resists embossing, which limits fiber jams to maintain the high cutting performance of abrasive minerals.

CHARACTERISTICS
- Uniformly distributed aluminium oxide abrasives offer a high cutting rate and a consistent finish.
- Our surface conditioning discs use aluminum oxide abrasive, the preferred choice among industry professionals for its quick cutting and long service life.
- The abrasive is resistant and durable, and fractures itself during use to expose fresh cutting edges continuously to make cutting more effective: this differentiates it from traditional abrasives such as garnet, which wear quickly with use.
- Aluminum oxide ore is strong and durable, and has a high cutting rate and low heat retention.
- Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives are single-surface conditioning products that mix abrasives with non-woven nylon or synthetic fibres to create an abrasive system that delivers consistent results over the life of the product.
- The open mesh material works without heating and is anti-slip, which limits fiber jams to maintain the high cutting performance of abrasive minerals.
BENEFITS
- The variety of grains and sizes of abrasives provide an ideal starting point for cleaning, finishing, homogenization and fine shaving.
- The open mesh material operates without heating and resists molding, so it offers a long operating time.
- The adaptive disc conditions surfaces without scratching, marking or damaging the base material.
- Hookit placement system to change the disc quickly and easily in multi-step finishing processes
