Other plates, sheets, film, foil and strip 3M. What. Tape 5480 of 3MTM uses an adaptable calendered polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film support. Our tape offers an extremely low coefficient of friction.
5480 calendered PTFE film 3MTM, with an extremely slippery surface, offers good adaptability when separated from the roll compared to ordinary extruded PTFE film tapes. We developed this tape as a quick and easy solution to reduce friction between moving surfaces. It functions as an anti-adhesion or easy release medium between surfaces where pressure, temperature changes and other factors can create an adhesion measure. The application of this tape can help to improve surface movement, eliminate squeaks and rattles and reduce machine noise. PTFE is resistant to chemical agents and can be used as a temporary chemical barrier. The tape can be used in a wide temperature range, from -54 °C to 260 °C, making it suitable for various applications.
Supply: 5 to 10 working days

What is PTFE?
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic material used in various sectors and applications to reduce the coefficient of friction. Due to its non-stick properties and high heat resistance, PTFE is used as a non-stick coating for pans and other kitchen utensils. It is an excellent insulation material for electrical applications, due to its lack of conductivity. PTFE does not react to numerous chemicals, due to the chemical resistance of fluoropolymer bonds; this makes it effective for containers and pipes for reactive and corrosive substances. PTFE reduces friction, wear and energy efficiency of machinery. Due to its low friction, PTFE is used in industrial applications where sliding between parts is required, such as bearings, gears, sliding plates, etc. In these applications, it offers significantly better performance than nylon or acetal. 3M this versatile compound has gone through an extrusion process.
ABOUT 3M
3M it has solutions so diverse that they have the right answer for every need. And if not, they work alongside the customer to develop that new way of doing things. This different way of thinking is shown in studies developed to find the most optimal product for each organization.
