THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF RESCATE AND
When working high, an accident may occur that requires the intervention of a rescue team to evacuate the victim.
In that case, the rescue team personnel must intervene in an emergency situation and the ORO REGULATION in such cases is to Evirate the ACCIDENT.
Therefore, and before any intervention, the following should be asked:
- Is there residual risk after the accident (electric risk, gas presence...)?
- Do I have the capacity to intervene (from the physical, psychological, technical...)?
- Do I master the rescue plan (called emergency services...) and the evacuation operating mode?
- Have I received SPECIFIC training in rescue operations to be implemented? (OBLIGATION of Directive 89/655/EEC Article 7 and annex II 4.4.f [directiva 2001/45/CE]).
Rescue staff may then intervene in accordance with the above-mentioned rescue plan, and their priorities will be:
- Secure the victim,
- Withdraw the victim from the suspension situation as soon as possible,
- Expect the arrival of aid in the best possible conditions.
Each situation is unique and requires the right material. In establishing an evacuation plan that defines the human and material means to be used, we must distinguish between the following situations:
- evacuation in confined space,
- self-evacuation in fixed post,
- evacuation in the field (multiple situation, one or more victims),
- evacuation in mechanical rebound.
