The respirator for hand sanding and power tools 3M™ 8822 is our valved filtering facepiece respirator 3M™ Cool Flow™, adjustable nose clip and color-coded headbands for comfortable wear. Rated FFP2, it is available in packs of 10.
Use the respirator for hand sanding and power tools 3M™ 8822 as convenient protection for drilling, sawing, sanding by hand or with power tools. Designed to provide FFP2 protection, our valved respirator protects against medium levels of fine dust and oil- or water-based mists typically produced when working with cement, wood and steel. Featuring a durable, warp-resistant inner shell and convex shape, the lightweight double-band design includes a nose clip and soft nose foam that helps provide a secure, comfortable fit on a wide variety of face sizes. The valve 3M™ Cool Flow™ reduces heat buildup inside the respirator by evacuating exhaled air.
RULES
These devices meet the requirements of the European standard EN 149:2001+A1:2009 for self-filtering masks for particles. These masks offer the user protection against solid and non-volatile liquid particles.
These devices are classified according to their filtration efficiency and total inward leakage (FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3), as well as their use and resistance to clogging.
This standard includes filter penetration tests; prolonged exposure (load); flammability; resistance to breathing and total leakage towards the interior. Reusable models must also undergo mandatory cleaning, storage and clogging resistance testing (clogging testing is optional for non-reusable masks). You can purchase a complete copy of the EN 149:2001 A1:2009 standard through the national standardization bodies (in Spain, AENOR).
Designation:
R = Reusable
NR = Not Reusable (one shift use)
D = Complies with the clogging test

STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
The masks 3M™ Series 8000 have a shelf life of 5 years. The expiration date is marked on the product box. Before use, check that the product is within its use period. The product must be stored in a clean and dry environment, in a temperature range of -20 to +25ºC and relative humidity < 80%. Please use the original packaging to transport it.
PRODUCT DISPOSAL
Contaminated products must be disposed of as hazardous waste, according to national regulations.
ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1 Hold the mask in one hand with the nose clip between your fingertips and the adjustment bands hanging down.
2 Place the mask below your chin, with the nose clip facing up.
3 Place the top band on the crown of your head and the bottom band below your ears.
4 The bands should not be twisted.
5 Using both hands, mold the nose clip to the shape of the bottom of your nose so that it fits snugly. Using only one hand may not achieve a proper fit.
6 The correct seal of the mask must be checked before entering the workplace.
FIT TEST
1 Cover the front of the mask with both hands, taking care not to distort the placement of the mask.
2 (a) Mask WITHOUT VALVE - exhale forcefully; (b) Mask WITH VALVE - inhale forcefully.
3 If air enters or escapes around the nose, re-adjust the nose clip to eliminate the leak. Repeat the check.
4 If air enters or escapes around the edges of the mask, replace the adjustment straps to eliminate the leak. Repeat the check.
If YOU CANNOT get a proper fit, DO NOT enter the contaminated area. Contact your supervisor.
If required by national law, users must undergo a fit check.
For information on fit checking procedures, contact 3M.
