Creates strong bonds in low surface energy plastics
It creates structural joints without the need to apply special treatments to the surface, such as chemical engraving, plasma treatment, flame or crown, or imprimation. Simply wipe the surfaces with isopropanol to remove mold removal agents, dirt, dust, etc. Structural adhesive for plastics 3MTM Scotch-WeldTM DP8010 Blue also binds metals, ceramics and wood, and most plastics. It's slightly flexible once cured. We also formulated this adhesive with 203.2 micron microspheres to reduce the density of the joining lines.

Easy adhesion with acrylics
Acrylic adhesives are bicomponent adhesives that offer excellent bonding strength and durability. Also known as adhesives or epoxy adhesives, acrylics come from an independent chemical family with their own characteristics. This unique adhesive binds LSE plastics together without the need for printing or other surface treatments.

APPLICATIONS

The plastic structural adhesive 3MTM Scotch-WeldTM DP8010 Blue is a two-component acrylic adhesive specially formulated to bond a wide variety of low surface energy plastics, including various polypropylene, polyethylene and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), without the need to specially prepare the surface.

TECHNICAL DATA

Our acrylic adhesive 3MTM Scotch-WeldTM DP8010 is of medium viscosity, allowing it to be dispensed in a controlled manner and spread until the surface is sufficiently wet. With a mixing ratio of 10:1, it has a mixing life of 10 minutes. The adhesive achieves part binding in 1 hour and fully cures in 8 to 24 hours at 22 °C.
